Character Road Bikes
I call them "Character" because the bikes I collect and sell are the antitheses of what you'll find at most local bike shops.
When was the last time someone looked at one of the bog standard bike brands so common in North America and said "Wow! Cool bike!" (Never.) Instead of mass-produced Konas, Giants and Treks with bottom-tier Walmart-quality Sora and Tiagra components, I search out prestige (mostly) European rides, many with seldom-seen here Campagnolo components. |
Whether recent carbon or aluminum with click shifting, or a classic '80s "steel-is-real" frame, "Heritage" means the greatest names in European road bikes, like Colnago, Pinarello, Merckx, Bianchi, Vitus, Koga Miyata, Gazelle, Olmo. Equipped with Campagnolo, Dura Ace and Mavic. Made of Columbus and Reynolds tubing.
TOCycles offers fine contemporary and classic road bikes in all styles and sizes, at a fair price. Our goal is to put you on a great "pre-loved" (we hate that phrase but...) head-turning heritage road bike for about half what one would cost from a bike shop. |
You can find cheaper. You will not find better value or better service.
We offer personalized test- and fitting-rides, a money-back "try-it-for-a-week" guarantee, and a "Ride-It-For-a-Year" 75% buy-back offer. |
Great Names in Cycling
What makes dealing in bikes so interesting, is getting to deal with these great constructors from the decades (even century) before Trek and Specialized et al. These are the names (often family names) that laid the foundations of the modern bike world. If you aren't familiar with them, read up.
What's New?Alas, we are winding things down at this time, in 2016.
The last 8 years or so have been wildly educational on the bike front (I now know more about tubesets and components than is healthy), have allowed me to meet and deal with some very interesting people, and have allowed me to build up my personal bike collection to a ridiculous scale. But bikes take up way more space than stamps and it's all become a bit too much. Plus, if I broke even on the ... what? maybe 200 bikes that have moved through this site, I'd be surprised. So, I am paring down. If I don't have what you are looking for, I would still be happy to help you search the online ads, help you avoid common pit falls. If you see something interesting and want a second opinion, shoot me a line and a link. I am always curious. |
